Remnant Of An Earthquake

I've seen some absolutely stunning landscapes while traveling south, then north, through this magnificent state.  It's been difficult to capture it in photographs because I've been seeing most of it while on the move!  So far by bus and boat.

Today we traveled from Anchorage, which is located in the southern part of the state, north to Denali State Park by train.  We will be there for two days.

This shot was taken from the train.  The best guess as to why this mountain appears the way it does is that it was split by an earthquake some time ago.  This shot shows just a tiny fraction of the vastness of the scenery here.
