Nat Champs Day 1

The junior rowing calendar has been leading up to this weekend - British National Championships. It's a huge event at the national watersports centre in Nottingham and a big commitment of time, money, and energy. The Junior 14 boys coxed quad has been training for this for weeks and we're aiming for a medal, although the competition will be incredibly tough. As there's a chance they might be knocked out in the early stages Tom and Robby have also been entered for a junior 14 double so they get another race on the first day.

The morning is time trials one by one down the 2k course and both the quad and the double qualify for the quarter finals which they both go on to win, which is a surprise for the Tom/Robby double as they've only raced twice before, at Marlow with disastrous results and at Kingston where they didn't even make the semi-final. So how they managed to do it here with such tough competition is a surprise and mystery.

Thrilled the boys gamble off like labrador puppies and buy themselves centurion all in ones, which they model to the delight of the crowd! Tomorrow will be a very big day.
