Amethyst Deceiver
What a fantastic name! The woodland floor was covered in them. They are very small and at first we couldn't find any fungi but once we saw one of these, we saw them everywhere. It wasn't easy keeping Jak off them. Despite a good run around the woods, he was a bit bored being back on his lead at this point and had a tendency to sit on them.
We had been drawn to the National Trust's Emmetts Garden as they advertised an abundance of fungi. Sadly, compared to other years, that was just not the case and certainly not in their gardens (the woods that surround it are known as Toys Hill).
We had a lovely day anyway.
