update
My son Dallas has taken me for walks since I've been here in Boston with him and his wife/our grandkids. So helpful... they have been such a support.
Tomorrow I will go to my sister's on Cape Cod and stay until it's good to fly back to Bradenton. The power is widespread. In my County alone 70,000 have been restored, 143,000 still out. In Florida I think it was almost 3.5 million out and steve said he thinks 1 million have been restored.
He had cell service during the hurricane and for that I was grateful, we could message & he would update me and I knew he was safe. Now the service is not good at our house but at my moms we can talk and text. He is there every day. Both houses are fine, a lot of debris and at my mom's some trees down, damage outside, but everything is ok and them being safe is the only thing that really matters.
The town has been something like a ghost town Steve says with no stores open only some traffic lights. Now you treat it like a 4 way intersection. He said only light driving home one night from mom's was scattered solar lights in people's yards.
Generators can only power so much, esp portable ones like ours. So he's gotten creative about using it for different things one at a time. LG Batteries (for tools) can be used for a portable fan {still warm there} and other things. They can be chg by the generator. My mom has a house one that does more and thankfully she has AC.
Ok that's enough! We are all well. My mom and Steve are real troopers. We will all be okay... the stress will settle down and better days are coming. We were very, very fortunate. So many others had it so much worse as you may have seen in the news.
