Happy birthday to Al

We had a whirlwind 300 mile day today!

Our sister-in-law invited us to spend time with her two new grandbabies.  She had a little cake ready for Al, and we all sang to him.

Then we took a color tour to the middle of the state, ready to head in the best direction to see the Aurora when darkness approached. 

The weather predictions were dismally off!  They gave us hope that the skies would be clear at a dark sky park over two hours from home, so we headed for it.

Cloud cover was 80% plus!  It was fun to be in the sand dunes after dark, though, and we had a great time anyway.

Maybe we'll get lucky next week and have some clear skies!!
