Friday
For all of the blessings that surround us we must constantly remind ourselves to be grateful for all that we can see, hear, smell and feel.
As light from the rising sun filled the sky the temperature dropped and a surface frost was very evident on the grass although the air temperature was still 3 degrees Celsius.
Dippy was bright eyed and bushy tailed seemingly oblivious to the frosty grass as he dashed around in circles at formula one racing speed!
We met Jack a great uncle of Dippys who was 56 years old and who had poorly joints that prevents him from running, he was 10 times larger than his young great nephew with a lovely red coat.
Back at camp we helped Vivienne with some minor hedge surgery near the bottom yard, she was in the process of clearing out some scrub and forming a “window” to appreciate the stunning view below.
After a bit of breakfast and a chai latte we had a tour of the lovely garden next door with Marjorie with Buster letting us know that he was behind the gate down below!
A most wonderful walk around the fields and meadows below followed as pheasants hurtled noisily through the air. A short sortie into the woods provided a good walking stick and a sturdy awning support both in organic hazel;)
Back for a late lunch, a chat with Ben who is about to start his own gardening business in the area.
Vivienne and Maisie joined Dippy and I in Amadeus for a cup of tea and a chat, she was very impressed with Amadeus and felt very relaxed there.
Kippers and noodles were on the menu for supper followed up with sourdough bread accompanied by blueberry jam and clotted cream.
Lots of reading whilst Dippy caught up with some lost sleep time, I wasn’t too far behind him.
Zzzzzz
