Last Splash

The only blooms left in the allotment are this poppy and I doubt they’ll be there after the weekend. I was along there for a couple of hours this morning to continue the autumn tidy-up. Cucumber and squash plants are in the compost bin and potato patch weeds joined them but not the grass cuttings, they were left to mulch. Had to make emergency repairs to the berry frame as the wind had broken one of the corner stakes and it was in danger of collapse. The danger isn’t over, more work needed when the weather’s friendlier! Returned home with a ‘harvest’ of some late rasps, a slightly gnawed cucumber and a mini butternut squash. Won’t be trying squash again.
