Bodnant Maples

It’s been a GOOD day - a very good day. No hospitals, only a very agreeable trip to pick up a prescription which had been rushed through as I’d been so disorganised that our forthcoming trip to Norfolk would mean I’d run out of meds before our return.

And talking about disorganisation…… We have a brief trip to Bodnant and of course i want to find some autumn colours. Camera battery - check; memory card - check; required lenses - check. I get in the car and when we arrive in Bodnant I realise I have my camera bag, but I’ve managed to leave the actual camera on the hall table! So it’s another case of being grateful for my phone - and let’s face it, it has a pretty sophisticated camera conveniently placed in my pocket ready for use!

Although autumn colour seems slow to appear this year, Bodnant’s maple grove is already showing some beautiful reds and russets. It’s not yet in its prime, but with today’s blue skies it’s more than adequate.

This evening sees us out at a charity function at a local golf club where a jazz band is playing - and they’re excellent. In many ways I’m tempted to stay home, but I’m very glad we’ve made the effort.  I’m not quite up to dancing, but enjoy the music and the company, and although we’ve said we’ll only stay an hour or so, we’re there until the end. Definitely a very good day!
