Miniature

I've always enjoyed visiting exhibitions of hand-crafted items and admire fine craftmanship.

This miniature chest of drawers, sculpted in the thick branch of a tree was wonderful to see and I decided to purchase it from the gifted artist. The drawers are so well made and a tiny branch, sticking out on the left, has been kept and smoothed with sandpaper. The drawers are deep and perfect for little handmade necklaces made by another artist. I have had some of them for a few years now.   The cute little owl is a mascot from about fifteen years' ago!

I've made a collage, so that the lovely wooden piece can be seen from two different angles.

A mostly dull day today with some rain this evening.
