Putt Putt

We walked down to the waterfront for the Davistown Putt Putt Regatta and Wooden Boat Festival. It’s normally an annual event, but recent regattas have been cancelled because of floods and before that Covid. Today the weather was kind and the gale force winds abated.

Putt putts are small wooden boats, typically driven by a single cylinder engine which makes that comfortable ‘putt putt’ sound. Many are home made. It took the gentleman in the first extra three years to build his boat. It’s called ‘Fred's  Cedar’ because he made it with cedar given to him by his late brother, Fred. Putt putt enthusists also make model putt putts (second extra).
