Australian King Parrot

King Parrots are common around here and they are usually quite timid so it’s difficult to get a closeup shot with a dodgy iPhone. This character was hanging around just outside the back door and seemed almost unconcerned by my presence.
It’s a male (females have a green head) but probably immature as there is still a bit of green visible on top of his head and down the neck. That’s what a bit of green would normally mean but in these days of gender fluidity, I can’t assign any gender with certainty.
