The Old Home Town, Looks Just the Same

It doesn't ever seem to change.

The  names over the top of the shops changes, but everything  else is the same.

Around the turn of the century - the shop on the corner on the right was "Walshes".  All round Grocery Store, like Arkwrights in the Ronnie Barker classic.

I knew it when it was Granada.   Home of the coin operated TV rentals, and keeper of the Top Twenty Singles and where I bought my first ever single.  Snoopy Versus the Red Baron.

I remember on Grand National day, crowds of people standing outside the shop to cheer on their once in a year bet, and those people twenty years later were standing inside, as it became a Coral Book makers.

I always remember my uncle standing outside with his wee mate - watching the girls going by (He'd be locked up these days).  His shout to me and my mate was always, "You be careful, if you cant be careful, remember the date".   He was an awful man.

It's now dominos.    Seems to be quite busy - there are always drivers with a Pizza slice on the top of their car double parked collecting orders for delivery.

The sky is typical Scottish Autum,  Looks lovely, with a threat of storms, followed by stormy, with the likiehook of it clearing up.
