Nature walk

So done-in, in fact, that despite making sandwiches and having all my cycling kit out, I needed a rest this morning - and Rich wasn’t complaining either!

By 10am I’d had two breakfasts of probably 1100 calories and I’ve continued to eat like an elephant for the rest of the day.

Turned out that we still walked about six miles partly on this quiet road (with gradients
I’m glad I wasn’t cycling!) and then onto track. We spotted the snuffle marks of wild boar; plenty of butterflies, including two dating and mating walls; a lone dragonfly; conspicuously buzzing bee-flies; and various tweets in the pine trees. I was amazed at the discovery of an acorn on a miniature holly bush - even with a prickly hat (extra). No snakes but we keep looking!

We checked out a different Benigembla bar - mostly because we had no beans left to walk the extra few hundred yards. A few van chores were ticked off and, for the second night in a row, dinner was a joy to eat!

Stretch, eat, sleep…
