Working on the next series of ceramic pieces
I’m preparing a new series of items for a wood-fired kiln. These will include two or three types of cups, bowls, and also teapots.
In the photo is a slightly dried and burnished cup. Once the piece is fully dry, the color will become much lighter.
I never use a potter’s wheel, I just shape everything by hand, as they did in ancient times. I also don’t use any glazes, preferring simple burnishing and treating the pieces with beeswax after firing.
P.S. At first, I intended to make a small pot, but during the process, I cut off the top of the piece, and it turned into a cup.
