Sunday: More Pickled Onions

We slept until 7am and had a lazy start to the day. 

After breakfast I started “topping & tailing” the dry pickled onions - using my very sharp Kitchen Devil serated knife, then onions into warm water to soften the skin which slid off easily using my little vegetable knife (apologies for too much detail but this is to remind me of an effective and quick method). Salted the onion for 24hrs ready for bottling tomorrow …

MrD cut the grass, lots of fallen leaves chopped up too - mulched the newly planted Cabbage seedlings planted in deep bed behind garage.

I’ve also planted a Wild Sea Cabbage plant and a Jersey Walking Stick Kale, which were cuttings from the ones killed earlier this year.

Watched James Bond “Spectre” and a Welsh language programme “Marw Gyda Kris” (Dying with Kris) describing the practices relating to “Day of the Dead” rituals in Mexico.
