Pomme Portraits
We took a 15-minute train ride (and LOVE) double-decker trains) to nearby Dol-de-Bretagne to see Fête de la Pomme - the apple festival.
At a very down-to-earth and family focussed event, there were stalls with local apple and produce sellers and several organisations dedicated to sharing knowledge about traditional varieties, biodiversity and food provenance. There were plenty of interactive activities to involve young people WITH their parents, and on this wall were some delightful portraits drawn on apple shapes.
It was refreshing to see an event which amused / educated parents and children together, rather than one which offered something to amuse kids whilst parents had separate quality time.
