Sunday wanders
Sunshine today, rain in the forecast for tomorrow. Tomorrow is a holiday, Canadian Thanksgiving, and with the rain in the forecast I knew that I would be home for the day. I decided that housecleaning and laundry can wait for one more day and I would take advantage of the sun today.
This morning I went to the Public Gardens for a walk. I wanted to get more photos of the dahlias and other annuals before they all get cleaned up within the next couple of weeks. Then I went to brunch. This afternoon I had plans to meet a friend from the Photo Society at Shubie Park so we could walk around and get some photos of the fall colors there. Unfortunately a lot of the leaves had come down in the wind yesterday. The squirrels were busy, but most of them were not stopping for photos. I had no peanuts so they were not interested.
At brunch today I had to tell everyone that Alan is in the hospital. I told some of them the reason he is there, even though Alan had said just to tell them that he is in the hospital and will be there for a month. Alan also asked me to call Donna and let her know. Alan usually picks her up and brings her to brunch when she is not working. I called her tonight and we ended up talking for over an hour. Next week is our out of town brunch and Donna would have been traveling with Alan. I told her that I would see if one of the other ones would pick her up, or if not, then I would go to Halifax myself and get her.
There is supposed to be some fall color trips planned this week with the Photo Society. But when events are planned, only 2 or 3 people show up. I commented on the FB post about it, that I would be available on Sunday afternoon. Fred and I have done a couple of other outings together, so he messaged me to say he could meet me at Shubie this afternoon. We have decided that we will plan our own photo walks since no one else in the group wants to do anything. Both of us joined around the same time and for the same reason, to get to know other photographers and be able to do things with the club.
