Now, as I see it......

Delhi or bust

Well, I think I can safely say that today was the worst start to a holiday we've ever had.  We got an overnight flight from Heathrow to Delhi which took eight hours, and about half way into it W had a bit of a 'funny turn' and blacked out momentarily.  The Virgin staff were excellent, looking after her really well, taking her through to first class to lie down (only on the floor unfortunately, as the plane was full) and give her oxygen.  A young lady Doctor had been sitting a couple of rows behind us so she came and took W's blood pressure etc, and then stayed with her for the rest of the flight.

Virgin arranged for a medical team to meet us on arrival and we were whisked off in a rackety old ambulance with all sirens blaring to Delhi Hospital A&E where we have been all day.  A pretty depressing experience culminating in them deciding to keep W in for the night to monitor her.  The upside is that I am able to stay with her overnight but the hospital room is no nice hotel room.

Added to that, we had a difficult job contacting the tour operator because my phone wouldn't work here.  My contract is capped so I cannot make overseas calls which I can easily change by going into the app.  Trouble is, the app needs data to work so until I change the setting I can't use the app.  Although there is wi-fi in the hospital there is no internet connection so I can't use that.  Catch 22.  It also means I can't post this blip so for now I will just save it and post it when I can.  No idea at the moment when that will be.

Oh, and just to add icing to the cake, we were whisked through the airport so quickly I had no time to buy any local currency, which can't be bought in advance.  So here we are with no cash, although the hospital room service has agreed to accept a card after a bit of an argument.

(This is back-blipped; Monday has been better and we have now rejoined the tour, although I've not taken a decent photo.  Blip later.)
