Falkirk Wheel

A glorious Autumn day

We are having a three day break in the Falkirk area. On Sunday, we attended the Baptist Church where I had been Pastor in the 80’s. It was a blessing as several people told me how much my ministry had meant to them.

Today we visited the Falkirk Wheel. This is the only rotating boat lift in the world. This enables boats to be raised or lowered from the Union Canal to the Forth and Clyde Canal. The Union Canal took coal fin Edinburgh to Falkirk and the Forth and Clyde Canal carried sea going ships between the Firths of Forth and Clyde.
