Feeling the birthday love from afar

Today would've been my grandma's 97th birthday, but she passed away just a few months ago. I thought of taking a picture of flowers - she loved them - but instead, I decided on this because there is such beauty in the synchronicity.

When I got home from work today, there were two brown packages awaiting me. In each was a book. Both reveal how well the senders know me, and how parts of them and their stories, connect us. One book is from my flatmate from undergraduate days, and the other from my flatmate when I did my Masters in the States. I have such huge affection for both, and am impatient for them to meet someday.

I know Granny would've loved my receiving these gifts on her birthday.
