Greylag Geese
There were hundreds, if not thousands, of these Greylag geese at Staveley Nature reserve making rather a lot of noise this morning. They are the most common resident variety of geese in the UK and their numbers are bolstered by 90,000 winter arrivals from Iceland.
I also spotted some Canada geese which are also common in the UK and growing in number. See today's extra.
My blipping is somewhat sporadic at the moment. We are currently busy with buying and selling our house which is quite time consuming. A couple of weeks ago we had no plans to move, but life always has its little surprises!
