Bus Tour - Day 1
Have had the most wonderful first day, of (free) bussing the length of Scotland :-))
The transport has all gone smoothly, with seamless connections at every juncture:
- walked from the flat down to Haymarket
- CityLink 900 bus over to Glasgow
- lunch in Scotland's second city ;-)
- CityLink 923 bus down to Stranraer
- coffee & cake, in the sunshine, at a local cafe
- StageCoach 407 bus down to Drummore
- had time for a wander on the local beaches before dusk
Am a bit short of 'extras' so a few days of collages may be in order - snap thus shows (top left first):
- Haymarket, where I caught the 900
- Glasgow Buchanan Bus Station, where I switched to the 923
- a view in Stranraer, where I picked up the 407
- the shoreline at Drummore village, at the top of the Mull of Galloway, where I'm staying this evening ... remarkably, the village is further South than both Carlisle & Durham, and I even feel fairly close to the Isle of Man!
- the Eastern Drummore beach
- the Western Drummore beach
Have already realised that I'd partially forgotten just how stunningly beautiful this bit of Scotland is - I really adore the North of Scotland (on the right day, it's as dramatic as anywhere in the World) and I love spending time up there; but the skies, fields & beaches down here are also pretty special :-)
What a great start to my bus tour.
