Tomato flower ( Solanum lycopersicum )
A quet day round home so more wandering the garden looking for a blip. The other day I noticed the tomato plants were still producing flowers, not that they have any hope for fruiting or ripening. So they seemed like a good idea for a blip.
It always rather surprises me when I remember Tomatoes belong to the same group as such things as Deadly Nightshade. I remember as a child being told that "potato apples" (the fruit that when ripe look exactly like tomatoes) were poisonous. I wonder if they have bred a type of potato that doesn't have fertile flowers in these risk conscious days.
As my own reminder tonight I had my flu and covid vaccinations.
