The Wow Factor

Drove up to the southern part of the Dales today - Bolton Abbey - stopping off at Clumber Park for a late lunch & leg stretch. Went into the Walled Garden & was photographing a display of pumpkins, gourds, squashes etc in the entrance to the glass house when one of the gardeners suggested I look in the apple store. Wow! There were carefully arranged groups of all sorts of seed cases & flowers hung up to dry. This central section was hanging below a window in the ceiling, so everything was back-lit. Amazing - & apparently all assembled and mounted by the garden volunteers.

PS There's no phone signal here & only very slow, hit & miss, campsite WiFi - this entry has required a lot of patience - so I won't try to catch up with other journals at the moment. Fingers crossed reception will be better at the next campsite!
