Marjorie's ramblings

Day One

Today is officially the first full day of our workshop.

It was an action packed day with time in woods and on beaches.

Mark doesn’t do coffee stops or loo stops, so I was glad that I had made a flask of tea and that the weather was dry when I needed the latter!

Some of the woods show little autumnal colour yet, but are nonetheless beautiful.

I wore my rather splendid (old) Neoprene wellies on one sandy beach. They were brilliant, but so heavy that my poor new hip was sore afterwards.

Our last shoot of the day was to climb a hill to shoot towards Loch Maree. It was VERY windy and blustery. I made it to the top but needed a longer lens. I could hardly stand up!

I pottered down and spotted an enormous caterpillar. I think it is the young of the fox moth. Photographing it in high winds was almost impossible but I like the image I have chosen as the second extra.

After dinner, Joe Cornish showed us some of his prints. Oh my, his images are gorgeous. He talked about his ideas too.

I nearly fell asleep - Mark says he had to nudge me twice - so I’ll need no rocking tonight.
