Kōwhai

This is one of the Kōwhai (Sophara) species, and it is now quite a large tree in my garden. It is one of the best known native trees/flower in NZ.  Just now the tree is laden with these groups of yellow hanging down flowers, the birds love feeding from them.
We lit the fire this morning, and never regretted it.....so so cold.
