A beautiful misty warmish start to the day. We (Dippy and I) enjoyed a run/jog/chase the stick covering at least 5k.
Back for breakfast while Maisie and Dippy shared the wrestling ring and generally enjoyed each other’s company.
After some time spent stretching and performing mobility exercises, we had a quick wander around the upper meadows before a light lunch of soft goats cheese and blueberry jam.
A cup of tea with Vivian and a discussion leading to a hunt for a mortar and pestle to crush the saffron Vivian has been collecting from her autumn crocus harvest.
Several more tasks were completed before purchasing some good old dubbin for my walking boots, so that they will be ready for an upcoming adventure:)
Banbury’s department store came up trumps for the mortar and pestle. I received a bucket full of brownie points when getting back home. Vivian had made enough kedgeree for both of us and so the mussels I had bought acted as hors d oeuvres. A miniature apple crumble appeared from the Aga while Dippy was snoring curled up with his back up close to the warming oven.
Suitably nourished and warmed up we thanked our host and headed back to Amadeus and dubbin my walking boots before some much needed Zzzzzz’s.
