Caradoc and Hope Bowdler

Amusing story, today was the day of the Long Mynd Hike a 24 hour 50 mile challenge taking in a lot of the South Shropshire hills. knowing this we decided to avoid the area. However it was such a lovely morning and we hadn't been to South Shropshire for a while we changed our mind as I knew Caradoc and Lawley were the first hills on the walk so they would be well clear.

Cut to us walking around the side of Caradoc and onto the steep ascent and just as we started walking up someone came over the side at speed and then 10 seconds later it was like Zulu with people everywhere, yip the race didn't start until 1pm so all 650 entrants were now on the hill. To be fair we were gone and out of the way pretty quickly but having planned to miss it totally it was amusing to balls it up so well.

It was a very pleasant 10 mile walk and it got us wondering about whether to attempt it in a few ourselves in a few years..
