Number147

Tuesday

It's very mild this morning.

Hetty and I had an encounter with a grass snake that crossed our path at speed earlier. Too fast to photograph. Very impressive.

The Heron are tame along the canal but this one did move across the lock when Hetty approached.

I don't think the Heron was responsible for the dead fish because it was quite large. Perhaps an otter or an American mink, both of which I have seen on the K&A.

I'm hoping for an afternoon in the garden. No rain and not cold.

Later, we descended into the cutting and were surprised to find a sizeable tree had fallen.

Matt and Jo came round to help us make it safe as it was precariously positioned on a steep bank. (Extras)
