First Impressions
Well - the best laid plans etc:
I arrived at T3 at 0820. Oodles of time for my 1015 flight to Prague. However I was still queening for security at 0930 and beginning to get a bit worried. Got through with no dramas and headed off to gate 9 for my flight. Got as far as showing my passport and boarding pass when there was an announcement of a gate change to gate 24 - which I can confirm is miles away, especially as I took a wrong turn somewhere and had to backtrack in haste. Arrived at Gate 24 to be told that there was a delay as the people on the incoming flight (from Vienna in case you are remotely interested) were still on the plane. We eventually took off at 1145. Landed in Prague and, following my instructions hot footed it to the stop for the AE (airport express bus, non stop to Prague mainline station). 1.5 hours later, 3 AE's had come along and not stopped. So some new found and equally frustrated buddies got a 59 bus (1 every 3 mins) to the nearest metro station and then took a tube train to Mustek from which it was just an 8 minute walk to my hotel at 1700. I had to shelve my plan of going to the art gallery in favour of heading to a grocery store for some milk and sitting in my room catching up on my paperwork. As I write this I have done 12000 steps - no idea how that happened and am pretty much exhausted. I doubt I will even get to all the paperwork I had planned.
In my blip today - all the pavements are cobbled which is beautiful but hard work with a wheelie suitcase. A lovely lam in a nearby square and the inside of a church (I am sorry I couldn't find a name) next door to the grocery store. And finally a birds eye view of the view from the balcony outside my 3rd floor room.
