Helsinki day 3
Backblip
Another great day in Finland's capital city. We visited:
*Helsingin tuomiokirkko / Helsinki Cathedral, where I snapped today's photo. Sometimes I prefer watching other people experiencing places and events, especially if I've become bored or overwhelmed by the situation myself. Also, it is interesting (and funny) to watch other people take selfies and Instagram-worthy photos.
*Kiasma Finnish National Gallery. Outside the museum I admired little photos and artwork inside lens-filters, all hung up on branches of a giant metal tree (see extra photo, sadly I didn't save the name of the artist and Google-searching has failed me this time). Inside I especially enjoyed Iiu Susiraja's photo exhibition and we were pleasantly surprised to see the works of an Icelandic artist Hrafnhildur Arnardóttir, aka Shoplifter.
*A car show to celebrate Citroën's 100th anniversary. Lots of old and new Citroën cars in the city center.
*Suomenlinna Island, by ferry. Nice welcoming atmosphere, lovely café's and an excellent toy museum with many collectibles dedicated to Tove Jansson's Moomin figures and characters.
