Bet you think this picture's about you!
Sue and I went to see Lee Monday afternoon. Emotionally exhausting, but worth every minute. Great acting, powerful script, every moment shot with a female gaze. The whole movie is built around Miller’s photographs, many of which are part of the film. After the show we had to sit, blow our noses, and comfort each other for a while. It was impossible for us to watch the film and not see the parallels between Hitler’s rise and Trump’s; the genocide of Jews and the genocide of Palestinians. Hate has its followers.
When we got ourselves together, she went to her bus stop and I to mine, and I turned back to make a photo of her (in the orange shoes, looking the other way). A man shot me an evil look. Clearly he thought my photograph was about him, LOL.
