While re-hanging this little cupboard door I noted that it was made from part of a wooden crate, branded with the Ford logo.
I had heard that many carpentry projects in the Cork area used this excellent source of re-cycled wood.
There used to be a factory in Cork City which assembled Ford cars, with the parts being shipped in these crates.
Henry Ford’s father was from Ballinascarthy, West Cork.
