Purple Loosestrife

As I was driving on the east side of town today, this mass of purple in the distance caught my eye. It's a wetlands area where I have walked in the past, but I've never seen it look like this! As I was taking pictures a man stopped and told me it is an invasive weed that takes over in wetland areas. Sad that beauty is toxic to the area! Today I am grateful for the couple of hours I had with my camera and no agenda!! It's been a busy summer and I'm way behind with my blip buddies!
