Fungi
This morning we went on a "fungi foray" with a fungi expert, Peter Creed. Here he is looking as if he is about to conjure a fairy out of a parasol mushroom.
We learned that it's better to be safe than sorry when foraging for mushrooms as a lot of British fungi are inedible or even downright poisonous. We managed to find a few edible chanterelles, puffballs and even Amethyst Deceivers (!).
Luckily the chef who then demonstrated how to create delicious mushroom soup, risotto and tarts had also bought a variety of mushrooms from specialist foragers, so we didn't go hungry.
