The Pensioner

Back on the Chain Gang

Up to Granton Station (more properly Granton Gasworks Station but hey ho) to see their lovely refurbished “space” as things are now called.  And it is absolutely gorgeous. No expense spared. There is a small art exhibition in one of the rooms. It’s all intended for arty micro-businesses but no one has come. The dangers of a planned economy. One hundred yards round the corner are scuzzy auto-repair shops working out of rammed spare patches of ground. A few lock ups for local business and vans would be subscribed one hundred times over. But perhaps they’d not tick the DEI boxes. Oh the cynicism.
Down to check a few things over at the boat in its new location only to get roped into pushing stuff about.
And then Megalopolis. It had to be done. Oh it’s as dreadful as the reviews would suggest. Banal and pretentious, full of lofty abstractions (art, love, death) that fast become meaningless said the NS.
Isn’t life wonderful.
