tempus fugit

Traces

A weirdly humid afternoon (to be followed later by heavy rain) and I walked to where I occasionally see, very briefly, a snake dozing under a sheet of corrugated tin - before it instantly flicks out of sight.

No snakes today but close examination revealed fragments of a sloughed layer of skin. (I wish we could do that, to reveal a fresh complexion underneath the weathered surface.)

Elsewhere I noticed that the coastal ponies  had  left their own traces on a favourite scratching place. (Extra)

It's a shame that human traces now appear mostly as plastic waste dropped on the ground or thrown from cars.
