Sweet Chestnuts

What a gorgeous, sunny, warm unautumn like day. Over 20c this afternoon. Far too warm for the time of year and probably very annoying to those of you who had a wet old day.

An energetic morning, a second coat of paint on the studio window this afternoon. Then it was a case of getting ready for our guests for dinner this evening.

A poignant evening with friends, including Bob whose wife and very our good friend died last month at only 60. We both miss her very much, Susan even more so as Sue was a special friend indeed.

A good time was had by all. And by stint of doing everything yesterday we were able to relax having very little to do this evening other than enjoy the company.

I omitted to mention that yesterday was our Californian grandson Landon’s 7th birthday. We had a quick video chat with him late last night just after he came out of school and before he went to Chuck E Cheese diner for his birthday treat with Maddy and Granny. How can it be he’s 7 already?

There were loads of chestnuts on the floor in Mote Park while I was out running. This was my favourite.
