Kildonan Post Office, Vancouver Island

Which is where the boat stopped to deliver mail today. We joined the Frances Barkley mail boat for the day and sailed from Port Alberni to Bamfield and back (9 hours) delivering mail (and wood burning stoves!) to the isolated communities of the Alberni Inlet and Barkley Sound.

A very interesting day and we were also lucky enough to see two bears, two humpback whales and lots of seals. We had an hour at Bamfield and visited the beach before returning.
