Eva does this weird thing with her hair to get it to curl overnight. Looks a bit crazy!
Not the best of days. Nell went off on her walk and popped out of the hedge at the opposite end of the field where a woman was walking her Jack Russells. All I could hear was a load of growling as I ran up the field. Woman just walked off so assume her dog was ok. Naughty Nell. I had been walking slowly with poor little Charley who is really struggling now (he's 16 1/2).
Eva refused to get up and come to the yard to help, instead lying in her bed poking her phone for hours, despite promising me if we got another horse she would help.
Then I got to the yard to an 'atmosphere'. Buddy had kicked down all the electric fencing in the night to get to the long grass. How I can be held responsible for what my horse does in the middle of the night when I'm not there I really don't know. He's really hungry as the other owner in the field wants to restrict her horse, there's waist high grass there other side of the fence and he knows he can kick the base of the posts and they fall over. Instead of checking the horses or asking if I want any help they all stood in little huddles whispering and bitching like playground bullies. Then I had a tirade of text messages from the person I share the field with. Really unpleasant and upsetting but she has done nothing to help with fencing , checking batteries, clearing ragwort etc all summer and gives tiny handfuls of hay so they are hungry all the time and speaks to other people about what she's not happy with instead of speaking to me! Honestly I need to win the lottery and get away from that place.
Despite all this, once I had taken the unsafe fencing down I had a nice hack out on Lime. He was really full of it and felt brilliant.
Spent the afternoon clearing out the front room as we are hoping to get that sorted in time for Christmas.
