Hunters moon

The hunters moon is the first full moon after the September equinox. It is so called because in the northern hemisphere its brightness allowed hunters and gatherers to do a final stock up before the winter.

Tonight it loomed large in the sky. It was surrounded by a thin cloud and mist giving it an ethereal look. Not for want of trying, I haven't done anything to this photo except cropping. No filter or colour added anything.

Thanks for hosting Ingeborg.
