The Echidna and the Ants

This morning we met another old friend, Meredith. She lives in Canberra but kindly travelled by train to Sydney to spend the day with us. We first met her over 30 years ago when we were on a walking holiday in Somerset. We've since caught up with her  again during each of our three  visits to Australia. She's just returned from a holiday in Europe where she did a lot of walking, so we had lots to talk about. While we talked we also strolled around the Sydney Botanic Gardens where we found this amusing sculpture of an Echidna. It was so good to see M again.
