This is the left side of a mantle shelf and fireplace wall support that we uncovered when we dismantled some old walls in 1995. It’s interesting to get a glimpse of a variety of paint colours used 150 years ago. There is a small disused limestone quarry in the field behind our house and I often wonder if a number of our stone pieces came from there.
