Progress

A beautiful sunny day. I started by sorting out some clothes…putting some summer clothes away and sorting a pile of things to go to the charity shop. Then I spent some time reading papers and checking the agenda for next week’s Board, chatting to DMcC about it and chasing up various outstanding items.
Once I’d done that I walked over to the Traverse for this week’s Play, Pie and Pint. It was a two hander, set in Edinburgh during the Fringe, and was a bit mixed…one good performance, some funny in-jokes about the city in August and the usual clientele at different venues, but some clunky bits of writing.
I walked a longer way home to see some of the lovely autumn colours in the trees around the castle, then when I got back I was pleased to tick quite a few things off my to do list…. Nice to be able to push on and not get distracted.
T called to tell me about the assessment centre he was at for a promotion opportunity yesterday….sounded very hectic and stressful! Still, the good news is that he came through with flying colours so was very pleased and we talked about how he’d celebrate tonight.
A called on her way home, she’d had a less good day, struggling to work out how to challenge rule breaking behaviours whilst keeping relationships positive. She talked all the way home and by then had sorted out a way of thinking it through over the weekend so hopefully she’ll be less worried about it now.
I had some more of my soup for supper and a quiet evening.
