On the beach
Bertie and I had a most enjoyable walk at Calgary, under a sky that kept changing as clouds moved and allowed the sun to peer through and shine a spotlight on different parts of the slopes above us. We walked to the old pier and back then had a wander along the beach and up onto the machair before heading back to the car. We encountered very few other people and really appreciated the peace, punctuated occasionally by bird calls and the waves gently tumbling towards the shore.
Nick had an appointment in Tobermory in the early afternoon so we decided to have lunch at the Glass Barn as it was to be their last day before closing for the winter. The added bonus was that Bertie was allowed to be with us and we discovered that there were almost as many dogs as there were occupied tables, and all were very well behaved.
