The Last Roll

Drove through this junction on my way to the tenpin tonight and wondered why a big roadworks gang were assembling since there was nothing noticeably wrong with the road surface. A few hours later and the entire junction has been resurfaced, the first vans are already moving out and the guy on the steamroller is giving it all a final roll. It’s a mystery.
We fully expected to get thumped at the bowling and … we were! We didn’t embarrass ourselves against the best team in the league though so that’s something. The guy I was bowling against was pretty happy with his good last end which meant he maintained his 236 average. We play a different game!
