Who’s Counting?
Have heard a lot recently about how we should eat 30 different foods that come from plants every week.
Never read any further because l thought l already did that.
Today l prepared my Bircher oats and the salads l am taking away this weekend.
Wondered if this batch would hit the magic’30’ mark.
Here goes in no particular order:
Red cabbage
Apples
Carrots
Beetroot
Spring onions
Cherry tomatoes
Lemon
Pine nuts
Flat leaf Parsley
Basil leaves
Mint leaves
Grapes
Baby peppers: red , yellow, orange
Bulgar wheat
Walnuts
Garlic
Black eyed beans
Chickpeas
Haricot beans
Pinto beans
Aduki beans
Red kidney beans
Olive oil
Apple Cider Vinegar
Organic oats
Dried cranberries
Almonds
Cashews
Pumpkin seeds
Sesame seeds
Sunflower seeds
Ground flaxseed
Hazelnuts
Black peppercorns
Mustard seeds
Think that’s everything.
Also taking celery and cucumber, not putting those in my salads as some of my family don’t like them.
You can include tinned and frozen fruit and veg and dried goods.
( l use a can of mixed beans, rinse them and make my own fresh pesto to flavour them.
