A moment in time

Road trip

Bob took us on a road trip today; we travelled to Aberfoyle, where we had a stop and a quick coffee, then we traversed the very challenging small single lane road to Stronachlachar on Loch Katrine.  We passed the Lake of Menteith, and then Lochs Ard, Chon, Arklett, to Loch Katrine and Stronachlachar.  We had a delicious meal at the cafe there, Helen had Cullen Skink, and the others had Black Pudding and Haggis topped with poached eggs, all perched on a bun with some green leaves and tomatoe on the side.  Delicious!

We then carried on to Inversnaid on Loch Lomond,  and had a short walk around, viewing the waterfall.  It was raining, but it didn't make any great difference to our enjoyment.  We talked to some people from the Netherlands who were walking the West Highland Way, and also a girl from the Czech Republic who actually lived in London but was up here back packing and camping.  She had decided she wanted to live in Scotland..

The scenery today was stunning, and although it rained a lot it seemed to enhance the colours.

We didn't need a big meal when we returned home so settled for a cheeseboard and lots of wine!

My main photo is of Loch Chon.
