Whittaker Park

I travelled to Whittaker Park and the Museum and Art Gallery in Rawtenstall this morning for a meeting of the flood committee (the museum building features in the main image). Afterwards we had a look at the Unpave the Way Garden, relocated to the park from the RHS Tatton flower show. It’s part of a project to encourage people to use permeable surfaces and rainwater harvesting if they are creating parking areas in their front gardens. Cumulatively the paving over of gardens is contributing to surface water flood risk. Every little action helps (extra)
