A stormy day?
The forecast was for very high winds followed by torrential rain. We opted to go out with our cameras this morning and come home to look at images once the rain started.
Mark found us a wood which was very sheltered. The light was very flat, but I was happy when I found a stand of oaks near the edge of the loch.
We went to the Gairloch arts centre for coffee and cake at lunchtime, then to the beach near Mark’s house. By now the wind was whipping the sand along, but it was very mild.
Once you crossed the dry sand onto the wet sand by the water’s edge, it was possible to make photos.
We went to a private viewing of Alison Dunlop’s art in her studio. I loved her complex pencil drawings.
By now the rain had started, but it was already mid afternoon, so we came back to the hotel.
Tonight after dinner we exchanged photos on WhatsApp. It became quite silly, fuelled by a whisky or two! This is why I am so late posting and why my suitcase is not yet packed…..
It’s been a great week.
